The Valley Lodge
A timber-frame mountain lodge with hand-laid stone, full-height fireplaces, log columns, and a cathedral great room sized for a crowd.
A timber-frame mountain lodge built for gathering. The cathedral great room runs the full height of the ridge with exposed trusses overhead, log columns set on hand-laid stone piers, and a log-rail loft tucked under the roofline. Two stone fireplaces anchor the program, one in the great room and one on the covered porch, both full height and laid by hand.
Inside, the kitchen and bar pair glass-front cabinetry with a heavy timber-beam ceiling and a custom iron pendant. The reading room steps down a level and opens to a back porch through paired French doors. Outside, cedar shake siding, board-and-batten panels, and stone column bases tie the lodge to the wooded site it sits on.
